New York Theatre Ballet Presents Array Of Works At The Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum The New York Theatre Ballet will perform on Thursday, May 17 at 7 p.m. for three dance works that re-imagine the Classical World and meditates on the celebrated Farnese Sarcophagus (c. 225 CE).

The New York Theatre Ballet strives to perform small classic masterpieces and new contemporary works for adults and innovative hour-long ballets for young children all at affordable prices. The work of the professional company, its ballet school, and community service programs reach adults and family audiences across the country building a love for dance.

The program includes: "Afternoon of a Faun" by Vaslav Nijinksy (1912); "Antique Epigraphs" by Jerome Robbins (1984), and the world premiere of Gardner Museum commissioned work by choreographer Tom Gold.

The Farnese Sarcophagus will be the highlight of the upcoming exhibition Life, Death & Revelry, on view at the Gardner Museum beginning June 14. The exhibition will invite visitors to see this work through the eyes of artists over time, creating a conversation between the past and present.

The Classical World in Modern Choreography will take place in the Museum's Calderwood Hall, located at 25 Evans Way, Boston, Mass. Tickets are required. These may be purchased in advance or at the door, and include Museum admission.
