Dale Kristien

Dale Kristien is best known for portraying Christine Daaé in The Phantom of the Opera, performing the role for more than four and a half years. She first played Christine opposite Michael Crawford in the original Broadway production before reprising the role with Crawford in the Los Angeles premiere at the Ahmanson Theatre. She remained with the production until it closed, giving more than 1,700 performances and becoming the longest-running actress to play Christine, as well as the only performer authorized to play the role in all eight performances each week.

Before The Phantom of the Opera, Kristien starred opposite Donald O'Connor in the Houston Grand Opera production of Show Boat on Broadway. She also appeared on Broadway in Camelot alongside Richard Burton and later Richard Harris. Her regional theater credits include Carousel, The Pirates of Penzance, Show Boat, The King & I, The Desert Song, Kismet, The Sound of Music, Camelot, and My Fair Lady. She later appeared as Margaret Cavendish in Musical Theatre West's production of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde.

Kristien's television credits include a two-year role on Days of Our Lives and guest appearances on Knot's Landing and Motown's 30th Anniversary Special. In addition to her stage work, she has performed in concerts as both a solo artist and alongside performers including Michael Crawford, Bill Hutton, Richard Carpenter, and Robert Guillaume.
