Theatre for Young Audiences USA (TYA/USA), the national organization that provides advocacy and resources to the field of Theatre for Young Audiences, in collaboration with The Alliance Theatre in Atlanta, Georgia, will present the 2024 TYA/USA National Festival & Conference: POSSIBILITY on March 13-15, 2024.

Performances begin this week for Alliance Theatre’s annual holiday production, A CHRISTMAS CAROL, returning to The Coca-Cola Stage November 11 – December 24, 2023.

The Alliance Theatre has announced its participation in the Nationwide Reading of ENOUGH! Plays to End Gun Violence on November 6, 2023, in the Selig Family Black Box Theatre. As regional theatres continue to deal with shortfalls, news of another closing (Triad Stage) and gap fundraising came to light last week. After 21 years as the Alliance Theatre’s Jennings Hertz Artistic Director, Susan V. Booth will leave her role at the Alliance to join Chicago’s Goodman Theatre as Artistic Director.  Booth will finish her tenure by co-directing the regional premiere of the acclaimed play, Everybody, which begins previews September 2.

The Alliance Theatre has announced the Kathy Bernhardt Volunteer of the Year Award to recognize individuals who give of their time and resources as volunteers at the theater.  Volunteers serve as ushers, serve meals for cast and crew members, fundraise, act as ambassadors, and serve on various boards, advisory boards, and more.  The new award will annually recognize someone who exemplifies the selfless, community-oriented volunteerism of its namesake volunteer, Kathy Bernhardt.    

The Alliance Theatre’s first-ever animated feature, SIT-IN, is available for streaming now on Alliance Theatre Anywhere.  Written by Atlanta's bestselling author, playwright, and civil rights activist, Pearl Cleage (Blues for An Alabama Sky, Tell Me My Dream) this original animated special for family audiences celebrates the power of youth to change history. 

In light of ongoing developments resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic, the Alliance Theatre has made the decision to continue all its summer camps virtually. Camps are offered each week from May 26 - August 7 for ages 3 through grade 12.
