Charlotte Ahlin BIO

Charlotte Ahlin is a writer and playwright from Hell’s Kitchen. Her past work includes 'The Summoning,' which won Best Actor, Best Director, and Best Production at the SheNYC Summer Theatre Festival. She is the 2020-21 New Play Resident with SheNYC. Her other work has been produced at the Lucille Lortel, the Barrow Group, Dixon Place, the People's Improv Theater, the Tank, the Producer's Club, City Lore, and other venues of varying prestige around NYC. Her play 'Dido, Queen of Carthage' is published with Red Bull Theater and her film 'Roll With It' is available on the Fantasy Network. She holds a B.A. in creative writing from Oberlin College and serves as the associate artistic director of the non-profit theatre company Fat Knight Theatre. She's also a founding member of Page Break Writers Group, currently in residence with the SoHo Playhouse. She plays D&D and her cat is called Freyja.

Casts will include Tina Benko, Bill Buell, Robert Clohessy, Emily Donahoe, Clifton Duncan, Teresa Avia Lim, Joan MacIntosh, Nadine Malouf, Howard W. Overshown, Alfredo Narciso, and Linda Powell.

Photo Flash: Fat Knight Theatre Presents the World Premiere of THE SUMMONING


Critically acclaimed Fat Knight Theatre premiered the second play of their 2016 - 2017 Season with Charlotte Ahlin's The Summoning at the Winterfest Theater Festival Competition. Ahlin is a recent graduate of Oberlin College and a feature writer for Bustle.com. The limited run is directed by Emily Lyon, who recently directed the fall touring production of The Tempest for Hudson Valley Shakespeare Festival. She also served as dramaturge for the New York Times Critic's Pick, Sense & Sensibility produced by BEDLAM. Fat Knight Theate recently produced the hit play ChipandGus at the 2016 FringeNYC and Fringe Encore Series
