Directed by Emmy Award-winning filmmaker Kristin Atwell Ford (and produced by Quantum Leap Productions in collaboration with Arizona Opera), the film is as powerful and evocative in its own way as the piece and the process it reveres and celebrates. It makes its virtual premiere on Thursday, March 25th as part of an online benefit initiative ~ in partnership between The Actors Fund and the film’s producer, Quantum Leap Productions ~ to support performing arts professionals out of work due to the pandemic. Kathy Garver, who played the iconic role of “Cissy” on one of the most popular TV sitcoms of all time, 'Family Affair,” is returning to star in the upcoming new series “Aunt Cissy.”  The series has finished principle filming and is in its final days of post-production.  The date for the premiere of the pilot has been set for April 2020, says producer and creator Scott Travis of Travis Hunt Productions.

Last week, the cast of forthcoming web series,  Aunt Cissy came together for a theatrical table read.  The cast read the entire first season episodes of the series to an invited industry guest list.  The reading was held at The Loft Ensemble in North Hollywood, CA.

As I scoured the Capital Fringe listings for 2016, two shows caught my interest. While both RAIN FOLLOWS THE PLOW and ROMANOV both musicalize moments in history and showcase some serious songwriting skills and musicianship, they couldn't be more different from one another stylistically. While there is considerable room for both shows to grow, a future life for both of them is definitely possible due to the strong central concepts, creativity and musical bases.
