The Huntington announces the cast and creative team of Joy and Pandemic, a new play by renowned playwright and performance artist Taylor Mac and directed by Huntington Artistic Director Loretta Greco, making her Huntington directorial debut. The world premiere production runs from April 21 – May 21, 2023 at the Calderwood Pavilion at the BCA at 527 Tremont Street in the South End.

Rec Room Arts will present the Houston premiere of Hurricane Diane, Madeleine George's (Hulu's Only Murders in the Building) Obie Award-winning play that turns the Greek god Dionysus into Diane, a lesbian permaculture gardener whose secret mission is to save the planet from the ravages of climate change. Lily Wolff (Alley Theatre) will direct the production.

The Festival will feature readings by local playwrights, Parker Davis Gray, Erin Malone Turner, and Zander Pryor, along with Native American performance artist and activist Gregg Deal. Mr. Deal is the second recipient of The Katherine Owens/Undermain Theatre Fund for New Work and will close out the festival with his solo performance piece, The Punk Pan Indian Romantic Comedy. A selection of Mr. Deal's paintings and other work will be on display in our lobby as well. 

Chairman David Epstein and President Sharon Malt, on behalf of The Huntington’s Board of Trustees and Advisors, announced today the appointment of acclaimed stage director, producer, and community builder Loretta Greco as The Huntington’s next Norma Jean Calderwood Artistic Director.

American Conservatory Theater (A.C.T.) Conservatory Director Melissa Smith announced today that honorary Master of Fine Arts degrees will be conferred upon playwright Lydia R. Diamond and Magic Theatre's outgoing artistic director Loretta Greco. Both recipients will receive their degrees at a virtual graduation ceremony for the A.C.T. Magic Theatre has announced a new Monday-through-Friday daily podcast series, Far Apart Art, beginning Monday, March 30 and lasting for four weeks. The series is composed of brief, daily audio journals from a host of Magic's family of playwrights.
