Full Cast and Creatives Announced For IT'S A WONDERFUL LIFE at Music Theatre Heritage


Music Theater Heritage, the professional theater in residence at Crown Center, has announced casting for its holiday production It's A Wonderful Life: a live radio play. The production is directed by MTH Artistic Associate Emily Shackelford.

The production is directed and choreographed by MTH Artistic Associate Emily Shackelford, making her professional directing debut. The talented six-person ensemble features Chelcie Abercrombie, Taylor Avazpour, Valerie Chamberlain, Arthur Clifford, Catera Combs, and Douglass Walker.

Spinning Tree Theatre to Conclude the 2019-20 Season with LA CAGE AUX FOLLES


Spinning Tree Theatre will conclude the 2019-20 season April 17 - May 3 with Broadway musical La Cage aux Folles. The 1983 musical, based on the 1973 French play of the same name by Jean Poiret, has music and lyrics by Jerry Herman and book by Harvey Fierstein. La Cage aux Folles won the 1984 Tony Award for Best Musical, and both Broadway revivals (2005 and 2010) won Tony Awards for Best Revival of a Musical.

MTH Theater Reveals Cast and Creatives for a Spectacular Christmas Show


The MTH Theater at Crown Center has announced casting and additional details for its upcoming production of A SPECTACULAR CHRISTMAS SHOW. The original Revue is directed and choreographed by Ashley Pankow, making her professional directorial debut. The entirely Kansas City based company features Keshana Cook, Shelby Floyd, Nora Hennessy, Timothy Michael Houston, Mason Kelso, Noah Lindquist, Mandy Morris, and Robert Vardiman. Musical direction for the production will be provided by Mark Ferrell, who will also play piano. Mr. Ferrell is joined by Noah McNair on bass, Tod Barnard on drums, and Cindy Egger on guitar. The production team also includes lighting design by Art Kent, sound design by John Story, costume design by Shannon Smith, scenic coordiation by Mark A. Exline,  and stage management by Tenley Pitonzo.

The Coterie Theatre to Present TOMAS AND THE LIBRARY LADY


The Coterie Theatre presents its first-ever bi-lingual production in the company's 37 year history with the stage adaptation of the award-winning book Tomas and the Library Lady. Based on the true life story of acclaimed Mexican-American author and education advocate, Dr. Tomas Rivera, Tomas and the Library Lady is adapted by Jose Cruz Gonzalez from the book by Pat Mora. It will be directed by Shanara Gabrielle and will be performed live on The Coterie's stage February 25 - March 18, 2016.

Everyone's favorite fine, four-fendered friend, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, lands at The Coterie in Kansas City this summer. Based on the hit MGM motion picture and featuring The Sherman Brothers' original music from the film, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang receives its Theatre for Young Audiences World Premiere as part of The Coterie's Lab for New Family Musicals, directed by Jeff Church, from June 17 - August 3, 2014.
