In fact, if there were ever two groups with more tragic histories in common than blacks and Jews, it would be hard pressed to find them. The hero of this one-of-a-kind musical embodies both cultures, overcoming horrendous odds to be able to declare 'Today I am a Man' on the day of his bar mitzvah."
