Founded by Cuban-born dancer and choreographer Eduardo Vilaro, Chicago-based Luna Negra celebrates the richness and diversity of Latino culture through the creation of works by contemporary Latino choreographers, including Annabelle Lopez Ochoa, Fernando Melo, Gustavo Ramírez and Edgar Zendejas. Steering away from stereotypes and folkloric representations, the company performs these contemporary works with an energy, power, and passion that captures the immense cultural shift that is shaping America in the 21st century.
