The Order of the Golden Scribe: Initiation Tea at Nancy Manocherian's the cell theatre

The Order of the Golden Scribe: Initiation Tea is a culinary immersive theater and escape game experience. Teams will have to decipher clues through careful observation, making connections and communicating with each other to earn each course of finger sandwiches, scones, and desserts. This intersection of escape room game mechanics with interactive/immersive theater through the lens of a fine dining experience was created exclusively for a February 2023 Artist in Residency at the Nancy Manocherian's the cell theatre. This project is an international collaboration between Shuai Chen (an MIT/Stanford-educated neurobiologist, community builder, and game creator), Arlo Howard (an award winning game and interaction designer), Nell Quinn-Gibney (a puzzle and experience designer and storyteller), and Ali Mark (fabrication/installation and graphic artist).
