PAPER BRIDGES at Playwrights Horizons Downtown

PAPER BRIDGES is a participatory Forum Theatre performance presented by SoCiviC Theatre, exploring how immigration and visa uncertainty shape work, relationships, and the ability to build a life in the United States.

The performance begins with a story centered on the pressures and choices faced by international students and immigrants navigating systems often beyond their control. But the story does not end when the scripted performance does. Audience members are invited to become “spect-actors,” step into the scenes, replace the protagonist, and try different ways of responding to the obstacles onstage.

Through performance, intervention, and dialogue, PAPER BRIDGES asks what choices become possible when we stop simply watching and begin rehearsing change.
