Oh, Kentucky!

Set against the backdrop of the Great Depression, Oh, Kentucky! tells the story of Porter Hobbs, a pragmatic Chicago banker desperate to distance himself from his humble rural roots. When his employer sends him back to a small town in Kentucky to collect debts from struggling farmers and townsfolk, Porter faces the life he thought he left behind—and hoped to forget.

Among those he encounters is Emma Jane, a strong-willed schoolteacher whose family owes a significant debt to the bank. Emma Jane embodies the spirit and resilience of the close-knit community, standing firm against the hardships and uncertainties of the era. As Porter and Emma Jane’s paths cross, a complex relationship blossoms, fueled by mutual respect, growing attraction, and the clash between duty and desire.

Through their journey, Oh, Kentucky! explores themes of community, love, and the pull of one’s roots in challenging times. Porter’s return forces him to reconcile his ambition with a deeper social responsibility, while Emma Jane grapples with protecting her family and the town she calls home. Together, they must navigate a world where survival demands sacrifice, and the heart seeks a place to belong.

Filled with heartfelt ballads and stirring ensemble numbers, Oh, Kentucky! is a celebration of perseverance, connection, and the enduring power of home.
