Juniper Tree

A devised adaptation of the Grimms’ fairy tale featuring an innovative fusion of puppetry and mask performance. It is the first installment of a new collaborative theatre project to create new works inspired by fairy/folk tales from around the world. The larger goal of the project is to use versatile puppets and character masks to bring unique and visually compelling theatrical experiences to diverse audiences. Each collaborator’s skills and ideas are invaluable to the creators’ highly fluid and democratic process.

LARP Me Gently

Marline, a mild-mannered Brooklynite and unemployed dreamer is the queen of a Live Action Role Play fiefdom and her renown and kingdom only grows in numbers. Her relation to reality becomes more tenuous still when she moves into an apartment charged with an ancient fairy tale. When she meets a very real and very pushy house gnome and inadvertently steals from him, she must prove her Queen-ness to mom-jeans-wearing dragons and bring this unwieldy story to an end. An original folk puppet musical by Charlotte Moroz, produced by The Society for Misfit Puppets.

Presented as part of Puppet BloK!, a series dedicated to presenting ground-breaking new works of puppetry & other innovative forms of storytelling.
