New York, NY — September 22, 2025 — Break out your neon and leg warmers and turn up the synth! The spirit of the 1980s is coming alive for one night only at Green Room 42 with "Decade by Decade: 1980’s," a musical time machine celebrating the decade that defined a generation. The show takes the stage September 22, 2025 at 9:30 PM, promising an electrifying journey through the unforgettable sounds, stories, and style of the '80s.

Featuring a powerhouse lineup of Broadway and cabaret talent, Decade by Decade: 1980’s will groove through hits from legends like Madonna, Wham, Prince, and many more. From dance-pop to classic rock, this show is a dynamic, heart-thumping celebration of a musical revolution.

Curated and directed by Sydney Stephan, the evening will blend powerhouse vocals, storytelling, and infectious energy to bring the era's greatest songs back to life in a fresh, theatrical way.

Sydney Stephan

Founder/Producer
Sydney Stephan (she/her) is a multi-talented artist taking the city by storm. Sydney has been an actor, musician, and artist since before she started kindergarten. An internationally acclaimed performer, she made her professional theatre debut at age 14, and by age 17 was performing with Corey Mach (And Juliet National Tour, Merrily Broadway) and Keri Rene Fuller (Cats National Tour, Six Broadway) at the Idaho Shakespeare Festival under the direction of Victoria Bussert. Sydney made her television debut on Disney Channel’s Andi Mack in Season 2. After graduating with a BFA in Musical Theatre from the University of Utah, Sydney traveled to over 50 countries with Holland America Line as a featured vocalist and piano entertainer. She is now a full-time artist based in New York City, performing at venues like The Friki Tiki, Bo Peep Lounge, and The Ivy Room. An excellent piano vocalist, Sydney has a repertoire of over 600 songs from six continents. In 2023, she released a live EP featuring two original songs, “Silver Palace” and “Alaska” available on all streaming platforms. Recently, Sydney has ventured into production, creating notable shows like 54 Below Sings the British Invasion & Beyond and The Spooky Spectacular! In 2023, she produced a solo show at Green Room 42 and organized the University of Utah’s first-ever agent showcase in 2021, with guidance from Shorey Walker and the Growing Studio. Sydney has had enriching experiences with new work. She played Flora Cranley in the world premiere of The Invisible Man at the Virginia City Opera House and enjoyed flexing her acting chops in George M. Cohan’s play Seven Keys to Baldpate. She has also workshopped and participated in readings of several new musicals in NYC, reveling in the creative process. Sydney played Bebe Benzenheimer in A Chorus Line, directed by Broadway’s Eric Sciotto and featuring original choreography by Michael Bennett. Jae XO (they/she) is a revolutionary transgender artist and LGBTQIA+ activist with roots in Kentucky, a heart in New York City, and a vision that reaches worldwide. Their creative journey spans starring roles in two world premieres, producing and managing major Broadway productions, and building bridges across the entertainment industry to champion equity and visibility for queer and trans communities. Jae XO can often be found lighting up stages across NYC with their original music and magnetic presence. Juliette Maners (she/her) is so excited to be back at the GR42! Originally from south Florida, Juliette is an Actor, Stage Manager, and eco-advocate now based out of NYC. A recent graduate of Rider University's Musical Theatre BFA with a minor in Arts Administration, she is thrilled to perform in DECADE BY DECADE after helping organize the series as Productions by Stephan's Executive Assistant! Juliette is a Broadway Green Alliance Green Captain who aims to use her art to inspire others to do something or change something for the better.
