ABOUT THE ARTISTS
Interested in combining elements of reality with the haze and twists of the inner world, Cynthia Berkshire brings a background in dance, theatre and visual design to her projects. She came to New York to perform with Kei Takei; has an MA in dance from George Washington University and has worked as a graphic designer at the ad agency DDB Worldwide. Cynthia has been a movement coach on theatre productions such as the Strindberg Festival; created four short films; and performed in projects by Sally Silvers, Noemie LaFrance among others. Currently she studies ballet with Zvi Gotheiner, Sivananda Yoga.

Kathy Westwater creates art that exists in the human body. Described by Dance Magazine as “bloodless and fascinating” and The Brooklyn Rail as “at the limits of the human,” her work responds to contemporary experience by reimagining the body’s movement potential. Developed in New York City, since 1996 her dances have been seen at New York Live Arts, Franklin Furnace, Danspace Project, 92nd Street Y, Movement Research at Judson Church, Brooklyn Museum of Art, Dixon Place, Lower Manhattan Cultural Council, Performance Space 122, Brooklyn Arts Exchange, Pratt Institute, Reed College, and many parks, public spaces, and more.

Kristen Brooks Sandler is a choreographer residing in New York City. Her work is at the intersection of theater and concert dance, employing non-specific narrative in tandem with an avant-garde aesthetic to envelop the audience. Kristen has a BFA in Dance Performance & Choreography from Elon University, and since graduating has performed around the country in the national tours of Elf! the Musical and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. She has also assistant choreographed a myriad of projects, including Nickelodeon’s TV Show Shimmer and Shine, and Busch Garden’s Nightbeats.
