Edward Allan Baker's DOLORES to be Presented at Under St. Marks Theater

Red Door Productions proudly presents Dolores, written by Edward Allan Baker and directed by Matthew Danger Lippman, starring Coralie Bradnam and Sinead Hogan at Under St. Marks Theater. Performances will take place on Tuesday, May 12 and Thursday, May 14 at 7pm, and Friday, May 15 at 4:30pm. The runtime is 40 minutes, and tickets are priced at $25.

Set on a Sunday afternoon in Providence, Rhode Island, Dolores is a sharp two-hander about two working-class sisters whose lives have taken very different turns. When Dolores arrives at Sandra's door battered and fleeing her abusive husband, what begins as a plea for refuge turns into a confrontation with shared trauma, buried memories, and the complexities of family. Starkly real and paired with Baker's signature dark comedy, Dolores explores cycles of abuse and how the past continues to shape the present.

“Dolores, like all of Baker’s plays, is deeply personal and, at its core, is all about love” say Red Door Productions’ Ana Radice-Morras and Violet Levinson. “Having already produced two of his plays, we didn’t hesitate when the opportunity came to produce this one."

Director Matthew Danger Lippman says he "wanted to be a part of Dolores immediately," adding that he "was moved by the play, and impressed by the passion and humor Sinead and Coralie brought to the material." First performed at the Ensemble Studio Theatre Marathon in 1985 and included in Best Short Plays 1989, it has since been translated into five languages and produced around the world.

Sinead Hogan, known for the critically acclaimed Rushed (2022), followed by Shelter in Solitude (2023), will be playing Sandra. She will next appear in Into The Black (2027), alongside Peter Greene, Cathy Moriarty, and Federico Castelluccio, as well as Mother's Last Day opposite Siobhan Fallon Hogan, Margaret Colin, and Patricia Heaton.

Coralie Bradnam will be playing Dolores. She is currently completing the two-year Conservatory at the Lee Strasberg Theatre & Film Institute, with credits including Big Love (2025) and the upcoming Who Do You Call (July 2026).

Director Matthew Danger Lippman is a musician, director, and actor whose work includes the short Ain't No Cure for Love: America, the pilot Fellas, and the upcoming features Frogs and Farewell Island. He is also the recipient of Best Actor at the Sherman Oaks Film Festival for Portland Is the New Portland.
