Donna Bacalao tells the everyday story of the beautiful woman Donna and her struggle to survive in her hard work making klipfish. Romance and joy in everydaylife is also of great importance in the performance. A classical story about love and hope and also the town`s historical and exotic background.
Kristiansund became Norway`s biggest exporter of the klipfish at the end of the 17th century. Klipfish of the finest quality was exported to Brasil, Cuba, Spain.
