Silly Bus Pulls Up to Richmond CenterStage, 3/9

Richmond CenterStage has announced their newest addition to the 2013 Family Series as they present the award-winning Richmond-based children's musical performers Silly Bus and their newest show titled "Rockin' Cabin Fever Reliever." This special performance is part of CenterStage's 2013 Family Series and will be held at CenterStage's Gottwald Playhouse on Saturday, March 9 at 10:00 a.m.

Firehouse Theatre Project has announced the third play of its American Inferno season, Any Given Monday by Bruce Graham, 'the dean of Philadelphia dramatists' (Philadelphia Inquirer). Directed by Shanea N. Taylor and a proud part of the Acts of Faith festival, Any Given Monday runs February 14th through March 9th at Firehouse Theatre, opening tonight, February 15th. Any Given Monday is recommended for mature audiences.
Norfolk Chamber Music Festival Announces 2013 Season

The Norfolk Chamber Music Festival, presented by the Yale School of Music, celebrates its 72nd season this year with performances and residencies by six internationally esteemed string quartets alongside students and young professionals from around the world. From June 22 to August 17 Norfolk will host a roster of string quartets including: the Artis Quartet, the Brentano Quartet, the Emerson String Quartet, the Jasper String Quartet, the Keller Quartet, and the Tokyo String Quartet. The Tokyo String Quartet, which is retiring this year, will play its last concert on July 6 at the festival. And on August 3 the Emerson String Quartet will perform its New York area debut concert with the group's new cellist, Paul Watkins.

Written by Catherine Bush and based on the best-selling novel by Southern writer Clyde Edgerton, this wise and witty story stars Barter audience favorite Mary Lucy Bivins and is directed by Eugene Wolf.

Virginia Rep's Children's Theatre of Virginia opens Lyle, Lyle, Crocodile on Friday, March 1 at Willow Lawn, 1601 Willow Lawn Drive. The show will run through April 5, 2013 with added matinees to accommodate the public school spring break schedule. Based on the beloved children's books, The House on East 88th Street and Lyle, Lyle, Crocodile by Bernard Waber, the musical shares the magical adventures of Josh Primm and his misfit (but very special) reptilian pet - Lyle! The original music and lyrics are by Bruce Craig Miler, Artistic Director of Virginia Repertory Theatre.

American Shakespeare Center Only U.S. Theatre Featured in BBC's SHAKESPEARE UNCOVERED Series Tonight

The American Shakespeare Center is the only U.S. theatre company included in the British Broadcasting Corporation's six-part series, 'Shakespeare Uncovered.' The final installment of the series, 'Shakespeare Uncovered: The Tempest with Trevor Nunn,' features the ASC prominently through rehearsal and performance footage from the company's 2011 production of The Tempest as well as interviews with ASC Co-Founder and Artistic Director Jim Warren and actors James Keegan and Miriam Donald Burrows.

Richmond Shakespeare's Next Show Will Be THE TEMPEST

Richmond Shakespeare has announced the next show in its 2012-13 season, The Tempest by William Shakespeare. The show will run March 9 through March 30, with previews on March 7 and 8. Thursday - Saturday performances are at 7:30 p.m. Sunday matinees are at 3:00 p.m. All performances will be in the McVey Theatre at St. Catherine's School at 6001 Grove Avenue, Richmond, VA 23226.

Virginia Repertory Theatre announces the opening of Hay Fever by Noel Coward at the Sara Belle and Neil November Theatre on Friday, February 15, 2013 with a preview on February 14. Part of the Acts of Faith Theatre Festival, the show will run through March 3 with a talk back on Sunday, February 24 following the 2:00 p.m. matinee. This witty comedy of manners set in the 1920's English countryside portrays the outlandish lifestyle of four bohemians as they host unsuspecting guests for a weekend in the country.

The Chicago City Limits National Touring Company arrives at The Barns at Wolf Trap to perform their highly lauded improvisational parodies. As New York City's longest running comedic act, which in the past has hosted comedians such as Jerry Seinfeld, Jon Stewart, and Robin Williams among others, the actors of Chicago City Limits recount today's hard news through a series of hilariously relevant satirical sketches. In 2008 and 2009 the troupe was bestowed the MAC Award for Best Comedy/Improv Group by The Manhattan Association of Cabarets and Clubs. Regularly performing at academic institutions and performing arts venues across the United States, the touring company cast has also made appearances at Super Bowl XXIII, HBO's US Comedy Arts Festival, Lincoln Center, the Smithsonian Institution, and The Today Show.

2013 RVA Environmental Film Festival Schedule Announced

The RVA Environmental Film Festival was founded in 2008 as "The Biggest Picture", Richmond's first environmental film festival. The Falls of the James Group, Sierra Club revived the event in 2011 as the RVA Environmental Film Festival. Today the mission of the festival is to bring entertaining and educational films that leave attendees with increased awareness of environmental problems faced locally as well as globally. This year's presenters of the RVA Environmental film festival include Falls of the James Group, Sierra Club, James River Green Building Council, Virginia Land Conservancy, and Enrichmond Foundation. Thanks to generous sponsorship there is no admission charge for the 2013 RVA Environmental Film Festival.
