Music of the Andes To Be Performed at Alden Theatre 10/23

By: Oct. 13, 2010

Andes Manta, a group of musicians who play the ethereal and vibrant music of the Andes on more than 35 traditional instruments, will perform at McLean's Alden Theatre at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 23. Tickets are $14, $10 for McLean tax district residents. The theatre is located at 1234 Ingleside Avenue.

From the lyrical sound of the quena, or Andean Flute, to the haunting tones of the six-foot long pan-pipes, the music of Andes Manta is an experience that never fails to bring audiences to their feet. The musicians, brothers Fernando, Luis, Jorge and Bolivar Lopez, have performed before appreciative audiences all around the country. They believe that through their music they bring a rare opportunity for cultural understanding between the people of their homeland, South America, and the people of modern North America.

Tickets are on sale now! To purchase tickets, stop by the Alden Theatre Box Office, or to purchase tickets by telephone or online, contact TICKETMASTER at 703-573-SEAT, or www.ticketmaster.com. For more information, call 703-790-9223, or visit http://www.mcleancenter.org/alden/mcleankids.asp.
