STORYBOOK THEATER PRODUCTION OF PINKALICIOUS

TO HOLD LOCAL AUDITIONS

The upcoming Storybook Theater production of Pinkalicious, The Musical, in partnership with Broadway Series South, will host auditions on December 16, 2013 for regional actors. The show will play the Duke Energy Center for the Performing Arts January 22-February 2, 2014.

Producers are seeking adults for this musical adaptation based on the popular book by Victoria Kann and Elizabeth Kann.

Pinkalicious loves pink and wants everything in her life to be pink. Her dream is to radiate pink. After over indulging in pink cupcakes, she wakes up pink. She is thrilled to be pink and have her dream come true but her parents are dismayed after the doctor tells diagnoses her with “pinkititis” which could possibly be permanent or get worse!

She bravely follows the doctor's order to eat green food. Due to her new resolve, Pinkalicious is transformed back to normal. Pinkalicious has learned self-control and to be careful for what you wish for

Pinkalicious The Musical is about learning the power of self-control and the importance of moderation.

Everyone auditioning must be able to sing and execute standard musical theatre style dancing. For more information or to schedule an audition, please email Michele Weathers at

Casting Information

Please prepare two contrasting 16-bar selections in the style of the show. Bring sheet music in the correct key; accompanist is provided. Some may be asked to demonstrate dancing skills; be prepared to move as part of your audition. Please bring a recent picture & resume, stapled back-to-back.

PINKALICIOUS – (Age range 18-24 years old PLAYING a young girl age 10-12 years old) Must be vivacious and enthusiastic without becoming obnoxious. Loves pink and pink cupcakes. Excellent singer/actress. Alto/Mezzo with Belt Capabilities.

PETER (Doubles as BIRD)- (Age range 18-24 years old PLAYING a young boy age 8-10 years old) Pinkalicious' younger brother who feels that Pinkalicious gets all of the attention and who secretly loves pink. singer/dancer/actor. Tenor.

MRS. PINKERTON (Doubles as BUTTERFLY #2) - Organic-minded and busy mother, she never stops working. She learns to be less rigid and less busy, and finds her inner girl. Singer/actress. Alto/Mezzo.

MR. PINKERTON (Doubles as BEE) - Workaholic and pinkophobic. Starts off as stern and disapproving. Learns to be less close-minded and strict, and embraces pink. Singer/actor. Baritone.


ALISON/DR. WINK - ALISON: (Age range 18-24 years old PLAYING a young girl age 10-12 years old) Pinkalicious' best friend who also wants to become pink. Can be jealous and judgmental. Learns that the grass is not always greener on the other side. Alto Belt Capabilities. DR WINK: Overenthusiastic pediatrician. Excellent singer with belt capabilities.
