Cotuit Center for the Arts is seeking actors to appear in the world premiere production Lines in the Sand, a hard-hitting realistic drama written and directed by Jim Dalglish. The show, which explores the relationship between a 15-year-old boy and a 33-year-old man, will be performed March 9 - 26, 2017, in the Black Box Theater of the Cotuit Center for the Arts.

Saturday, November 19; 1:00pm - 3:00pm
Sunday, November 20; 3:00pm - 6:00pm

Show Dates:

Thursdays - Saturdays at 7:30pm; Sundays at 2:00pm.
Characters:
Boy: Fifteen years old. Scrawny and a little timid. A talented sketch artist who would give anything for his life to be as beautiful as his drawings.
Man: Thirty three years old. Something in his face betrays hard times. He would give anything to fix the things in his life that he has broken. (This role has already been cast. We are looking for an understudy.)
Audition Details
Actors will be asked to read from the script, which will be provided at auditions. (Link to sides provided below.) Actors may also perform a prepared monologue - although this is not a requirement.
Play Themes
Lines in the Sand is an adult play that explores mature themes - LGBTQ, rape, incarceration, bullying, masculinity, faith, and male identity issues. We are looking for a young male actor who is not afraid to explore these issues - in a nurturing rehearsal environment that is sensitive, supportive, and respectful.
Touring Possibilities
Cotuit Center for the Arts is looking into the possibility of taking this production to Boston (two shows) and Dublin, Ireland (week-long international gay theatre festival). Actor traveling and housing expenses would be paid by the producers.
