THE BOOK OF MORMON to Anchor 2015-16 Broadway Sacramento Season

California Musical Theatre announced the 2015-16 Broadway Sacramento season at the Community Center Theater, featuring six shows not previously presented on the series, two of which were produced in the round at Music Circus but never before part of Broadway Sacramento.
The 2015-16 Broadway Sacramento season includes: From the creators of "South Park" and winner of nine Tony Awards, THE BOOK OF MORMON will play a limited two-week engagement March 9 - 20, 2016, at the Community Center Theater. The New York Times calls it "the best musical of this century" and Entertainment Weekly says it's "the funniest musical of all time."The record-breaking smash hit Motown The Musical, a high energy celebration of the music that shaped our lives and made us all move to the same beat; Disney's Newsies, the smash-hit, crowd-pleasing new Disney musical, direct from Broadway, filled with one heart-pounding number after another; Pippin, Broadway's high-flying, death-defying hit musical that won four Tony Awards and was hailed by critics as "an eye-popping, jaw-dropping extravaganza"; Disney's The Little Mermaid, the classic love story that captivates audiences of all ages, with music by the composing team from Beauty and the Beast; and the family favorite ELF The Musical, based on the hilarious holiday movie about the adventures of Buddy the elf.

• Brief Description:
- ELF The Musical is the hilarious tale of Buddy, a young orphan child who mistakenly crawls into Santa's bag of gifts and is transported back to the North Pole. Unaware that he is actually human, Buddy's enormous size and poor toy-making abilities cause him to face the truth.
- With Santa's permission, Buddy embarks on a journey to New York City to find his birth father, discover his true identity, and help New York remember the true meaning of Christmas. This modern day Christmas classic is sure to make everyone embrace their inner ELF.
