California Musical Theatre announced the 2015-16 Broadway Sacramento season at the Community Center Theater, featuring six shows not previously presented on the series, two of which were produced in the round at Music Circus but never before part of Broadway Sacramento.

The 2015-16 Broadway Sacramento season includes:

From the creators of "South Park" and winner of nine Tony Awards, THE BOOK OF MORMON will play a limited two-week engagement March 9 - 20, 2016, at the Community Center Theater. The New York Times calls it "the best musical of this century" and Entertainment Weekly says it's "the funniest musical of all time."

The record-breaking smash hit Motown The Musical, a high energy celebration of the music that shaped our lives and made us all move to the same beat; Disney's Newsies, the smash-hit, crowd-pleasing new Disney musical, direct from Broadway, filled with one heart-pounding number after another; Pippin, Broadway's high-flying, death-defying hit musical that won four Tony Awards and was hailed by critics as "an eye-popping, jaw-dropping extravaganza"; Disney's The Little Mermaid, the classic love story that captivates audiences of all ages, with music by the composing team from Beauty and the Beast; and the family favorite ELF The Musical, based on the hilarious holiday movie about the adventures of Buddy the elf.

Broadway Sacramento, sponsored by Wells Fargo and presented by the nonprofit California Musical Theatre, is the largest performing arts event in the Capital Region. All performances are at the Community Center Theater, 1301 L Street, in downtown Sacramento.

Season Ticket Information

Season tickets go on sale Friday, April 17 at 10:00 a.m. Current season subscribers will receive renewal packets in the mail, and will have until June 5 to renew their season tickets and keep their current seat locations. Season tickets are available only at the Wells Fargo Pavilion Box Office, 1419 H Street, Sacramento, or by calling (916) 557-1999.

Season subscribers save up to $104 off the price of a pair of single-show tickets, and they get the best seats available, since they can purchase season tickets before single-show tickets are available to the general public. Six-show subscriptions (including The Book of Mormon) range from $138.75 to $417, depending on performance day/time and seating location. Five-show subscriptions (not including The Book of Mormon) range from $100.75 to $324, depending on performance day/time and seating location. Single-show tickets to some shows will go on sale in late summer or early fall.

• Brief Description:
- ELF The Musical is the hilarious tale of Buddy, a young orphan child who mistakenly crawls into Santa's bag of gifts and is transported back to the North Pole. Unaware that he is actually human, Buddy's enormous size and poor toy-making abilities cause him to face the truth.
- With Santa's permission, Buddy embarks on a journey to New York City to find his birth father, discover his true identity, and help New York remember the true meaning of Christmas. This modern day Christmas classic is sure to make everyone embrace their inner ELF.

DISNEY'S THE LITTLE MERMAID

- With music by the team from Disney's Beauty and the Beast, including "Part of Your World," "Under the Sea," and "Kiss the Girl," The Little Mermaid is Disney storytelling at its best.
- Unsatisfied with her life at sea, young mermaid Ariel longs to experience the human world above, so she embarks on a fascinating journey to discover her true self. The classic love story and memorable songs have captivated audiences of all ages.
- This production of Disney's The Little Mermaid, the hit Broadway musical based on the popular animated film, is directed by California Musical Theatre Artistic Director Glenn Casale, who also directed the 2012 Music Circus production of the show, which was its West Coast premiere and the first time it had been produced in the round.

THE BOOK OF MORMON
