With direction by CCP newcomer, Amy London, audiences receive a fresh look at a classic production. Set in the 1860s in the Asian country of Siam, The King & I is a story of unconventional love, acceptance, and the way that vast cultural differences can divide and bring together two people.

The Boiler Room Theatre, Williamson County's original and longest-running professional theatre company, will stage Neil Simon's Promises, Promises featuring the music of the great Burt Bacharach. The production will run from tonight, June 28th through July 20th at the theatre's iconic namesake venue in the historic Factory at Franklin, 230 Franklin Rd., Building Six, in Franklin, Tennessee.
Frist Fridays Concert Series Kicks Off with Malemen Tonight

The Frist Center for the Visual Arts' popular summer concert series Frist Fridays kicks off tonight, June 28 with a performance by the Chattanooga-based band The MaleMen. Now in its eleventh season, Frist Fridays take place on the final Friday of June, July and August from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m in the Center's Turner Courtyard. Patrons are invited to enjoy an evening of live music, light snacks and beverages as well as the diverse exhibitions on view in the Frist Center's galleries. Visitors are encouraged to bring lawn chairs to the events. Frist Fridays take place rain or shine.

The play tackles issues such as oppression, stereotypes, and self-identity with a satirical twist, and examines the strong desire and struggle for African Americans to release centuries of oppression.
