Fall Workshops Continue at Street Theatre Through 11/16

Street Theatre Company's youth program, ClassAct Dramatics, announces it's fall youth programming workshop series, Through The Stage Door, in partnership with seven local Teaching Artists. This fall, young actors will have the opportunity to learn from local professional teaching artists to learn many different aspects of theatre both on and off the stage.

Through the Stage Door Workshop Series will feature workshops the topics, Stage Combat, Acting for the Real World, Musical Theatre Auditioning, Magic, Improv, and Acting Auditioning. These workshops will be held Saturdays, 9am to noon, September 14 through November 16 at Street Theatre Company located at 1933 Elm Hill Pike Nashville TN 37210. Workshops will be offered for ages 5-18. Each workshop is only $45 with discounts will be offered for signing up for multiple workshops and for multiple children. As always, scholarships are available.

9/28/13 - Musical Theatre Auditioning for ages 5-18, Taught by Erica Haines

10/26/13 - Stage Combat for ages 8-18, Taught by Eric Pasto-Crosby

11/2/13 - Acting for the Real World for Teens, Taught by Aaron Shaver

11/9/13 - Acting Auditioning for ages 5-18, Taught by Pete Vann

11/16/13 - Improv for Teens, Taught by Scott Field

"No other environment has the ability to encourage, educate or build relationships the way that theatre does," says Elaina McKnight Shaver, Street Theatre's Youth Programming Coordinator. "There is something magical about coming together with the common purpose to create something beautiful and this autumn season we proud to offer several workshops to help students express their creativity in the performing arts."
