The Boiler Room Theatre, Williamson County's original and longest-running professional theatre company, will stage Mel Brooks The Producers featuring a classic score that audiences will be singing out the door. This story of two shysters trying to make a buck on Broadway, adapted from the classic movie by the same name, won more Tony Awards than any other musical, including Best Book, Best Score, and Best Musical. The production will run from October 18th through November 16th at the theatre's iconic namesake venue in the historic Factory at Franklin, 230 Franklin Rd., Building Six, in Franklin, Tennessee.

Based on the hit 1968 film of the same name, this Mel Brooks masterpiece chronicles the hilarious adventures of washed-up Broadway producer Max Bialystock (Ryan Leyhue) and his mild-mannered accountant Leo Bloom (Tyler Evick), as they scheme to get rich quick by producing the most notorious flop in the history of showbiz. They think they've found their play in "Springtime for Hitler"- but anything can happen when the lights go down on Broadway! What the two would-be producers Max Bialystock and Leopold Bloom don't know is that after all their hard work, will the musical pay off?

Patrick Kramer, who last directed the critically acclaimed Urinetown, is putting his Director hat back on for the mounting of THE PRODUCERS. "You can always count on Mel Brooks to give us tap-dancing storm troopers, gorgeous showgirls, and a ton of little old ladies all on the same stage," said Director Patrick Kramer. "This is a show that will make you laugh so hard you may need to check your undies. It'll insult your every sensibility and you will love every insulting moment."

THE PRODUCERS is a comic tour-de-force that spoofs the big, old-fashioned Broadway musical while paying tribute to it at the same time. The classic score contains such gems as "I Wanna Be A Producer," "When You Got It, Flaunt It," "Springtime for Hitler," and "Prisoners of Love." With a book by Mel Brooks and Thomas Meehan and music and lyrics by Mel Brooks, THE PRODUCERS will have audiences laughing out loud. Full of huge production numbers and stunning costumes this show is sure to wow the audience.

In addition to Leyhue and Evick, THE PRODUCERS features Catherine Birdsong as the lovely Ulla, and Chad Webb as the flamboyant Roger DeBris. Two newcomers to the Boiler Room stage include Andy Riggs as Franz Liebkind and Chase Miller in the outlandish role of Carmen Ghia. The cast also includes Corrie Miller, Julia Nettles, Kathryn Clubb, Stephanie Brooks, Andrea Howat, Brooke Mihalek, Cary Foust Street, Justin Boyd, Christopher Anderson, Dan Zeigler, Tyler Henry, Grant Vanosdall, and Anthony Just. Boiler Room's production of THE PRODUCERS has Musical Direction by Artistic Director Jamey Green and Choreography byKate Adams. Costume designer Cat Arnold has also joined the production team to produce the fabulous, intricate, and very specific costumers that this show demands.
