Quebec Closes Theatres, Bars, Gyms, and More Amidst Rise in COVID-19

Quebec has shut down many indoor public settings as of this week, including theatres. Additional closed businesses include bars, taverns, casinos, gyms and schools. All were closed as of 5 p.m. Monday due to the spike in COVID-19 cases.

The Segal Centre for Performing Arts is delighted to welcome back long-time Montréal favourite Yinglish (Yiddish/English) comedy duo YidLife Crisis (Jamie Elman and Eli Batalion) for an in-person send up of the last few years. The Segal Centre's presentation of YidLife Crisis' “Pandemish” will be in the Sylvan Adams Theatre for 10 performances only from January 22 to January 30, 2022.
Jordi Savall to Present A Special Edition Concert At The Festival De Lanaudière Saturday, February 26

Kiki Dranias burst onto the Montreal theatre scene in 2019 with her theatrical work, GOING UP, which went on to receive seven nominations at the 2020 Montreal English Theatre Awards (METAs), winning three for Outstanding New Text, Outstanding Emerging Playwright & Producer and Outstanding Independent Production. Her follow-up play, WHERE IS ANTON, which she also directed, was performed live at the Montreal Fringe Festival in June 2021, with six sold-out performances. Dranias' new play, THE LOVE TRIAL, a play she wrote and is producing with full support from Canada Council for the Arts, runs December 2 - 11, 2021 at the Masonic Temple Hall in Montreal.
