Interact Center For Visual and Performing Arts Celebrates 20th Anniversary

Since 1996, Interact's mission to create art that challenges perceptions of disability has opened doors for artists with disabilities and audiences eager to experience their work, who might never have seen the arts as a life choice, but who now see the arts as essential to their humanity. With over 125 artists working in theater and/or studio arts, Interact is multi-cultural, intergenerational, and embraces the entire spectrum of disability labels.
Playwright Warren Bowles Wins Ivey Award

Twin Cities theater veteran Warren C. Bowles took home an Ivey Award for his direction of Minnesota Jewish Theatre Company (MJTC)'s 2016 production of The Tale of the Allergist's Wife by Charles Busch. The play, which portrays the existential angst of a bored housewife when an old friend arrives, featured Sally Wingert, Linda Kelsey and Maggie Bearmon Pistner as part of its stellar cast.
Gadfly Theatre Company Presents SHE KILLS MONSTERS

?The Twin Cities theater community honored Graydon Royce, long-time theater critic for the Star Tribune, with the Lifetime Achievement Award, and costume designer Trevor Bowen with the Emerging Artist Award at the 12th annual Ivey Awards. The yearly celebration was held Monday, September 19, at the Historic State Theatre in downtown Minneapolis.
Old Log Theatre Extends MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET Million and Announces Next Productions

Lauren Gunderson is the 8th most produced playwright in the US in the 2015 - 16 theater season, according to AMERICAN THEATRE. Make that 9th, if you count Shakespeare. And part of the reason is her 2013 farce, THE TAMING, which riffs loosely off Shakespeare's famously problematic sex comedy, THE TAMING OF THE SHREW.

The Crutchfield Dermatology Foundation announced the 5th Annual Crutchfield Dermatology Foundation 5K for Camp Discovery at Lebanon Hills Regional Park, September 17th, 2016. The Crutchfield Dermatology Foundation is a non-profit created in 2012 by Charles E. Crutchfield III MD to promote good health in Minnesota. One of the Foundation's premiere events is the annual 5K, which has been successful raising funds benefiting the American Academy of Dermatology's Camp Discovery.
