Featuring six diverse but equally hysterical one-act comedies, David Ives’ All in the Timing is a witty, romantic and absurd evening of theatre. The plays are:
Sure Thing: A first date comedy with an existential twist. When you say the wrong thing, wouldn’t it be great if you could start over? Maybe—and maybe not!
Words, Words, Words: A look at an unusual experiment from the point of view of the very articulate and opinionated chimpanzee subjects.
The Universal Language: A young person hopes that learning a new language will be life-changing. It is, but student and teacher are both surprised at the outcome.
Philip Glass Buys a Loaf of Bread: A routine errand at a bakery becomes a send-up of Glass’ avant-garde musical style.
The Philadelphia: A hapless individual discovers that they are trapped in an alternate reality of confusing (but hilarious) bad luck.
Variations on the Death of Trotsky: Trotsky and his wife are compelled to relive the last moments of his life, Groundhog-Day style.
Directing duties for the six plays are divided between Kelly Boczek-Petrie, Joe Johnston, Veronica Long and Terie Spencer. Fifteen local actors will grace the stage for this evening of humor that runs the gamut from thoughtful to laugh-out-loud.
