Danny, guided by his pal Virgil, embarks on a road trip through the afterlife to reach his perfect love, Triss, who had rescued him but then disappeared. On the way the pair encounter many strange, but strangely familiar, characters.

Descending the 9 circles of Inferno, they meet a stripper, a politician, a clergyman, a military officer, a wall street trader, and others, before encountering the CEO of Hell himself.

They escape his clutches and climb the seven story mountain of Purgatorio. As they ascend, they meet a nurse, an artist, an educator, scientists, and others, all striving to make the world better.

At the top there is a river Danny must cross alone to meet his true love, Triss, who guides him around the seven heavens. Before he can stay he must face the judgment. With Triss as his attorney he gets through the trial. After a brief meeting with the Almighty, Danny and Triss are united for eternity.
