Abby Rockwell Savage In GLASSHEART At Orlando Shakes Playfest

Recent University of Central Florida graduate and now New York city based actress, Abby Rockwell Savage, plays Aiofe in Reina Hardy's newest work, Glassheart, at Orlando Shakespeare Theatre's Playfest running April 8-17th. 'I couldn't pass up the opportunity to be back in Orlando for Playfest again,' says Savage. I've participated in it for the last three years as either a theatre goer or an actress. To me, it is an amazing example of artists coming together in the spirit of community and collaboration and has become my favorite 'must-see attraction' when I am in the city. I couldn't wait to come back and I jumped at the chance to play this role.'

The fourth and final Gulfshore Playhouse show of the 2011- 2012 season is the Tennessee Williams classic A Streetcar Named Desire, playing April 6 through 27, with a preview performance April 5. 2012 will mark the 65th Anniversary of this enduring classic. The Pulitzer Prize-winning play follows the story of Blanche DuBois, a weak and disturbed woman on a desperate prowl for some place in the world to call her own. After losing their ancestral home, Belle Reve, Blanche shows up at the doorstep of her sister, Stella, in the French Quarter of New Orleans. Putting on airs of refinement and Southern gentility, Blanche tries to impress her brother-in-law, and his gentle, good-natured friend, Mitch. Seeking to escape from reality, and an emblem of a lost traditional South, Blanche becomes a victim of the harsh present. Marlon Brando starred in the Broadway production and the 4-time Academy Award-winning film adaptation.
FST Ends 2010/2011 Season With GHOST WRITER

Florida Studio Theatre will close its 2010/11 season with Michael Hollinger's intelligent new play, Ghost-Writer. Ghost-Writer is apart of FST's 20th annual SARASOTA FESTIVAL OF NEW PLAYS. This production also marks the second Hollinger production at FST, after the critically-acclaimed production of Opus during the 2008/09 season. Ghost-Writer opens on the Keating Theatre stage on April 6, 2011 andwill run through May 29.
