Jenny McKnight Stars In 'Dusk Rings A Bell' At Mosaic Theatre

PLANTATION -- Following the successful, record-breaking run of The Irish Curse, Award Winning Mosaic Theatre is proud to announce that Stephen Belber's Dusk Rings A Bell will feature a member of 'Chicago's Elite 8,' Jenny McKnight in the lead role of Molly to star in the first production of this play outside of New York.

Asolo Rep is proud to present the fully staged World Premiere production of Steven Drukman's new play The Innocents. Chosen from five plays developed during Asolo Rep's 2010 Unplugged new play festival, The Innocents opens on April 15, 2011 as part of the repertory season and in conjunction with the 2011 Unplugged Festival of New Plays. As part of the process, Steven Drukman is working in residence with Asolo Rep to develop the play and bring it to the stage for its World Premiere.

West Palm Beach's longest residing professional theatre, Palm Beach Dramaworks, concludes its 11th anniversary season with 'The Beauty Queen of Leenane,' a dark comedy by acclaimed playwright Martin McDonagh on Friday, May 6th (8PM) at their intimate downtown theatre (322 Banyan Boulevard). Special priced preview performances are slated for May 4th (2PM & 8PM) & 5th (8PM) and the production will play through June 19th.

South Florida revelers gathered on Monday evening to celebrate an artistic standard in the community - the region's theatrical talent. The 35th Annual Carbonell award ceremony played out amongst theatre-goers, actors, producers, directors and cast and crew members from some of South Florida's most renowned stages at the Amaturo Theater at Broward Center for the Performing Arts. 'Tonight we celebrated the artistry of live theatre through camaraderie, laughter and reflection...and honored the creativity of powerful stage and costume design, fabulous music and unsurpassed talent,' says Scott Shiller, Vice Chairman, Carbonell Awards Board of Directors and Executive Vice President of the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts. 'It's been a fabulous evening!'

The South Florida community is invited to celebrate the achievements of the talented theater professionals in the region at the 35th Annual Carbonell Awards on Monday, April 4, 2011, at 7:30 p.m. in the Amaturo Theater, at Broward Center for the Performing Arts, 201 S.W. 5th Ave., Fort Lauderdale. Tickets are $25 with $20 tickets available for groups of 10 or more. Tickets are available at the Broward Center's box office or by calling 954-462-0222 or visiting www.browardcenter.org. This must-see award ceremony will feature performances from each of the productions nominated for Best Musical in 2010.

Shear Madness at Florida Studio Theatre has been held over through April 3, due to popular demand. The hit show opened on Friday, February 25, and was originally slated for a two-week run. Shear Madness returns for a second go-around at FST after a nine-week sold-out run last season. Shear Madness is an interactive murder mystery where the audience gets to solve the crime. Join your favorite salon owner Tony, his gum-chewing assistant, Barbara, and the rest of the gang as they piece together the crime scene after a murder happens upstairs.

Playwrights include Jeff Baron, one of the world's most-produced playwrights in the past decade; Jamie Pachino, winner of this year's Francesca Primus Prize from the American Theatre Critics Association; Bill Rosenfeld, who was nominated for 30 Grammy Awards and won 4 times; and Mat Smart, winner of two Jerome Fellowships and the San Diego Playbill Award for Best New Play.
