Kravis Center for the Performing Arts today announced that it is presenting it gets better, which uses the universal foundation of music to educate and enlighten people about the struggles of LGBTQ youth, on Saturday, June 16 at 7:30 pm. This will be the Kravis Center's final PEAK series performance of the season.

National Endowment for the Arts Chairman Jane Chu has approved more than $80 million in grants as part of the NEA's second major funding announcement for fiscal year 2018. Included in this announcement is an Art Works grant of $10,000 to Palm Beach Poetry Festival, Inc. for fostering the writing, reading, performance and appreciation of poetry at its 15th Annual Palm Beach Poetry Festival, Old School Square, in Delray Beach, Florida. The Art Works category is the NEA's largest funding category and supports projects that focus on the creation of art that meets the highest standards of excellence, public engagement with diverse and excellent art, lifelong learning in the arts, and/or the strengthening of communities through the arts.

FAU Theatre Lab Presents Braswell's Musical CUBAN COURAGE

Theatre Lab, the professional resident company of Florida Atlantic University's Dorothy F. Schmidt College of Arts and Letters, will present the musical 'Cuban Courage,' a world premiere by Mark Walter Braswell. The story is of a Cuban couple's difficult decision in 1961 to send their only son, Carlos, alone to Miami to keep him safe and free from communist indoctrination. The play will be presented on Today, May 11 and Saturday, May 12 at 7:30 p.m. at the Heckscher Stage in Parliament Hall, 777 Glades Road, Boca Raton campus. Tickets are $20 and there is free parking in Garage II, adjacent to Parliament Hall. Tickets can be purchased at www.fauevents.com or by calling 561-297-6124.
