'The Cosmic Experience Stage Co.' blasts off with its debut show! This
is the first in a series of original one-person-shows and experimental
minimalist works written, directed, and performed by local artists. The
Cosmic Experience is the resident theatre company at CORNERSTONE, the
newly formed gallery and performing arts space in Wynwood. The space is
home to a growing family of artists creating fresh visions of Visual
Art, Music, and Performances in the growing Wynwood Art District in
Miami's Lower East Side.

Paradoxical Vacations of the Poetic Mind is an evening that delves into
the dream world to retrieve alternate possibilities for life in the
waking state. With these two one-person-shows on the same bill, one is
left to ponder the potential impact of the dreaming mind on our daily
lives.

El Caballero de Paris (The Gentleman of Paris), originally
commissioned by 'Miami Light Project' for the 'HERE and NOW' festival, now
expanded, unravels the touching historical tale of a presumably mad
vagabond poet who lived in Cuba. El Caballero is unearthed from the shadows
of an oppressive system in a society controlled by fear, not honor.
Through a series of recognizable characters the playwright shows his
fascination with the choices his muse made to become the humble and
enlightened individual that he was. Told through the present and those present
in the past, from the Caballeros lips and those that lived around him,
it echoes Cuba's lost battalion of incarcerated souls. The Cuban people
of his time loved him and 'El Caballero de Paris' will see to it that
we love him too.

In the 'World Premiere' of Directing a Dream we meet a
Latin-American actor, born and raised in Miami, finding it difficult to land
movie parts because of his mixed origins and looks. He spends evenings
studying and chronicling his dreams in hopes of finding an evasive and
missing identity within himself that can open up the creative avenues to
surpass the stereotypes and succeed. The actor/pseudo-scientist hacks his
brain through the stages of sleep to dissect the characters within his
dreaming subconscious in order to search for the 'Director' who will
give him the key image to work within the waking hours. The 'Director'
ends up being a surprise for all who observe this hunt for oneness in a
dreamscape made of our own times.
