The Orpheum Theatre announced that its 35th Annual Auction will take place on Saturday, November 16. The auction, which is the organization's largest and most anticipated fundraising event of the year, will kick off a year-long celebration of the Orpheum's 85th Anniversary.

"The Orpheum's Annual Auction is the perfect setting to commence our anniversary celebration," says Orpheum President and CEO Pat Halloran. "This event is one of our greatest and most successful traditions, and this year is going to be our best Auction yet."

The 35th Annual Auction will begin with an online auction, opening October 21 at auction.orpheum-memphis.com, and will culminate on Saturday, November 16 at 6:30 PM with a silent and live auction. The silent auction will offer over 400 incredible items up for bid, and the live auction will feature unique and extraordinary bidding opportunities such as a 2014 Nissan Pathfinder (in partnership with Wolfchase Nissan), a set of 2013-2014 University of Memphis Men's Basketball Season Tickets, and a trip for two to the US Open Men's Golf Tournament in Pinehurst, NC.

Not only will attendees have the chance to bid on an array of exceptional items, but they will also enjoy heavy hors d'oeuvres buffets and an open bar. Event planners expect an attendance of approximately 800 guests.

In addition to the auction festivities, the Orpheum will host a live drawing at the event for its Annual Raffle: a beautiful 1995 Spider Ferrari. Raffle tickets are $100 per entry, and are available for purchase now through the drawing on the night of the Auction. Entrants do not have to be present to win.

All Raffle and Auction proceeds will benefit the Orpheum's new Centre for Performing Arts. The $14.5 million Centre will offer advanced performing arts education programs to enhance the Orpheum's position as a well respected, national venue and allow the theatre to increase the availability of time and space to meet its primary goal of serving patrons of all ages in the Mid-South.

"The Orpheum is celebrating 85 Years of Entertainment, and with this new Centre, we are looking toward the next 85 years," says Halloran. "We encourage the entire community to get involved in supporting this incredible new addition to Downtown by sponsoring, donating, bidding online, or attending the Auction."

The Orpheum's 35th Annual Auction is made possible by its Presenting Sponsors: Sedgwick and Southland Park Gaming & Racing; its Online Auction Sponsor: FedEx; its Star Sponsors: Armstrong Relocation, Jan and Ted Donaldson, The Glassman Family, Dr. and Mrs. Michael Heck, KML & Family, and Lipscomb & Pitts Insurance; and its growing list of Auction donors and sponsors.

Admission to the 35th Annual Auction is $125 per person. Tickets for both the Auction and the Raffle are on sale now and available for purchase online at the official Orpheum Theatre website, www.orpheum-memphis.com, The Orpheum Box Office(901.525.3000), and the ticket counter at the Booksellers at Laurelwood. Tickets may also be purchased at the door. For a complete list of Raffle rules and regulations, please visit http://www.orpheum-memphis.com/events/detail/orpheum-raffle.
