Disney's Beauty and the Beast, the first North American touring production presented by Disney in over 25 years, comes to Overture Hall May 12–17. Directed and choreographed by Matt West, the production features Alan Menken's Academy Award-winning score, with songs by Menken and the late Howard Ashman, plus additional songs by Menken and Tim Rice. Kyra Belle Johnson stars as Belle and Fergie L. Philippe as the Beast, joined by Stephen Mark Lukas, Danny Gardner, Kathy Voytko, Javier Ignacio, and others. Based on the 1991 animated film, the stage musical premiered on Broadway in 1994 and remains one of the highest-grossing Broadway shows of all time.
