VERSATILE, is an award winning solo production written and performed by Kevin Neighbors and directed and developed by Jessica Lynn Johnson. The show has received 7 awards including the 2021 Broadway World Best Solo Production, Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival Spotlight Production award, and a Nomination for Best Solo at the Hollywood Fringe Festival.Synopsis: A journey through intersectionality. Kevin, a mixed-Black, gay person adopted out of foster care, wades through a political existence. With the help of characterized African wildlife, Kevin winds through celebration and despondency. Unfolding through, 20+ characters, poetry and education; from systemic racism, police encounters, sexual discovery, shame and ultimately pride, Kevin finds hope and meaning in identity politics.
