The Shameful (Untrue) Story of Herbie Gregory Morgan is a new play by Kevin Douglas, presented as part of Center Theatre Group's LA Writers' Workshop Reading Series. The play tells the story of a Black man who secretly rides the bus in order to get to the job of his dreams, set against the backdrop of the Montgomery Bus Boycotts. Douglas is an ensemble member of Lookingglass Theatre in Chicago, where several of his plays have had their world premieres.
