Tierra Legacy, led by David Salas and featuring original and longtime members of the iconic East Los Angeles band Tierra, returns to Cal State LA for a live performance at the First Annual Car Show and Community Festival. The performance marks a full-circle moment, as Tierra — founded by brothers Rudy and Steve Salas — first performed at Cal State LA in the early 1970s. Known for blending rock, pop, jazz, R&B, and salsa into a distinctive Latin R&B sound, Tierra gained national recognition with the 1981 hit "Together" and became the first Latino American group to place four songs on national charts simultaneously. Tierra Legacy continues to honor that legacy while looking forward, with a newly released album, The Legacy Continues, executive produced by David Sandoval and Cal State LA alumnus Rafael Ventura.
