Westside Ballet of Santa Monica's Spring Gala features a solo performance by Calvin Royal III, Principal Dancer at American Ballet Theatre and one of the few Black principal dancers at a major ballet company. Also on the program are Marcos Ramirez and Kate Inoue of Los Angeles Ballet performing George Balanchine's Stars and Stripes Pas de Deux, and a musical theater medley performed by David Prottas, a dancer, actor, and ballet teacher with ten years at New York City Ballet and credits in the Broadway revival of Carousel, accompanied by Adam MacDonald with choreography by Jeni Jones. The gala also marks the final events under outgoing artistic director Martine Harley, with Adrian Blake Mitchell set to assume the role in early June 2026.
