Those who attend the Hollywood Fringe Festival (HFF) surely know the married couple, Matthew Quinn and Bertha Rodriguez, producers and venue managers who have been putting together many selections since HFF began in 2010 via their company Combined Artform and Asylum venues. Continuing the celebration of independent plays, the duo has created the Hollywood Independent Theater Festival (HITFEST) https://hitfest.stagey.net/ opening in September featuring encore performances from this year’s Hollywood Fringe Festival. I interviewed the power couple to find out more about the new HITF.
“Haunting Rights,” written by Michael Perlmutter, is being extended by the Hollywood Independent Theater Festival on September 13 and 27 at Stephanie Feury Studio Theatre - 5636 Melrose Ave., Los Angeles 90038.

I Wanna Fall in Love comes to Asylum @ Stephanie Feury Studio Theatre, on the mainstage, 5636 Melrose Ave., Hollywood, CA 90038. This world premiere engagement of a new musical is a Hollywood Fringe Festival Selection.
Originally rehearsed in Hartstone's living room, in its debut season in the 2017 Adelaide Fringe, it won the inaugural 'Made In Adelaide' award, as well as the Holden Street Theatres award. The production then travelled to the Hollywood Fringe where it also picked up a host of awards, nominations and media accolades.
OVER TIME - an original play written, produced and starring Alex Ruiz and Vincent Giovanni will open Thursday, December 5th at 8pm at the Stephanie Feury Studio Theatre located at 5636 Melrose Avenue in Los Angeles, California.
An American Video Store is a funny, emotional, and nostalgic trip down memory lane. The story takes place over 3 pivotal moments in the history of the American video store. While telling an intimate tale of clerks and customers, the play also examines the rise and fall of what was a cultural phenomenon that defined a generation. The premiere performance of An American Video Store happens June 9th @ 6:30 pm at Stephanie Feury Studio Theatre, 5636 Melrose Ave., Hollywood, CA 90038.
