What if King Hamlet had discovered his brother’s plans before the treacherous poisoning? Or if Romeo had arrived just a few minutes later to discover Juliet awakening? PlayGround playwrights take us on a journey of alternate Shakespearean realities in this first Monday Night PlayGround of the New Year, Monday, January 8, 2024 at 7pm PT, live at the Broadwater Second Stage and simulcast. The writers had just four-and-a-half days to generate their original short plays inspired by the prompt “The Shakespeare Multiverse,” imagining a multitude of variations on Shakespeare’s classic comedies, tragedies and history plays, retold as ten-minute plays.
