About: Hedwig and The Angry Inch

Hedwig and the Angry Inch is the groundbreaking rock musical created by John Cameron Mitchell and Stephen Trask (music & lyrics). Following Hedwig, a genderqueer East German rock singer, the show blends raw storytelling with the glamrock legacy of David Bowie, Lou Reed, and Iggy Pop. Premiering OffBroadway in 1998, the musical became an instant cult sensation, winning the Obie Award and Outer Critics Circle Award for Best OffBroadway Musical and launching productions worldwide.

Its first Broadway production opened in 2014 at the Belasco Theatre and won the Tony Award for Best Revival of a Musical, cementing Hedwig as one of the most influential and enduring works in modern musical history.
