HapaLis Productions, in association with Jaxx Theatricals, presents the world premiere of Home[sic], a solo show by Elizabeth Liang. The performance delves into the complex notion of home, exploring themes of identity, belonging, and familial relationships through Liang's personal experiences and cultural background. Directed by Giovanni Ortega, the production promises an authentic portrayal of interconnectedness that resonates universally. Elizabeth Liang, an award-winning actress, portrays over 20 characters, sharing her journey of navigating the meaning of home in a deeply personal narrative.

Writer/Producer
Ms. Liang has won LA Weekly, Garland, StageSceneLA, and ReviewPlays awards for her work in Los Angeles theatre, where she has acted with Bootleg Theater, Critical Mass Performance Group, East West Players, The People’s Theater, Theatre of NOTE, Odyssey Theatre Ensemble, Quantum Theatre Company, 2100 Sq Ft, 24th Street Theatre, and Pacific Resident Theatre. Her solo show about growing up as a multiracial Third Culture Kid, Alien Citizen, toured internationally for six years and is now an award-winning film (aliencitizensoloshow.com). Some of her television credits include Oswald: The Lucky Rabbit (dir. Jon Favreau), Sugar, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, and recurring roles on NCIS and The West Wing. She has acted in both English- and Spanish-language films. Lisa is also a published essayist; speaker; audiobook narrator; sensitivity editor; co-host of the longest running podcast on the multiracial experience; and an intercultural writing facilitator. She grew up in Guatemala, Costa Rica, Panama, Morocco, Egypt, and Connecticut.

Directing credits include Where Did We Sit On The Bus (Liberty Theatre), Something Old, Something New (Curtis Theatre), Bright Room Called Day, Smash, Edith Can Shoot Things and Hit Them as well as Nicky (Chekhov's Ivanov adaptation) at Art of Acting Studio; Quentos (Los Angles LGBT Center), The Secret Sharer (DNA Works), Lola’s Banig (Center Theatre Group), Halo Halo (Third Culture Theatre), Angel from Manila (Echo Theater), Lena Passes (Pasadena Playhouse), Scrimmage (East West Players), La Madre de Todos los Exilios (La Casa Tercer Acto, Bogotá), The House of the Spirits, Cabaret, Spring Awakening - The Musical, Urinetown. In Singapore, Giovanni directed The Body Series, Evolution, Kabaret Singapura at Haque Centre of Acting and Creativity. Artistic Associate at CIRCA Pintig and FilAm Arts Teatro’s Artistic Director. Faculty at Stella Adler Art of Acting, AMDA College of Performing Arts and visiting professor at Colorado College.

JD Morabito (Co-Producer and Jaxx Managing Director) Cultural Arts Envoy to the USA representing American Musical Theatre. He served as Associate Director for Broadway in Tunisia with the U.S. Embassy in Tunis at the Municipal Theatre in Sousse, Tunisia & Broadway in Fiji at the Japan Theatre at the University of the South Pacific in Suva, Fiji, starring the vocal group from Disney’s Moana film. JD produced and acted in the following Jaxx shows: the LA Premiere of Once Upon a One More Time (Prince Erudite), Pippin (Lewis), Cabaret (Bobby), Rent (Squeegee-LA Scenie for Ensemble), Chess, the Musical (American Dream King—LA Scenie Awards for Ensemble & Production), Wild Party (Jackie-LA Scenie Awards for Ensemble & Production & BWW Award for Best Dance Show), Matilda (Rudolfo) & A Chorus Line (Mark).


Colin Tracy

Co-Producer
Colin Tracy (Jaxx Producing Director) is a writer, director and filmmaker from Wilbraham, Massachusetts. He recently made his Los Angeles directorial debut with the Los Angeles premiere of Once Upon a One More Time. The founder of The Firefly Creative, he has directed more than a dozen stage plays, including Urinetown, It’s a Wonderful Life, Shadowlands, and Into the Wardrobe. He is also the writer and director of award-winning films, such as Illuminate and Lukewarm, as well as short films And Then She Was One, Heaven Came Down and Scars. He is excited to be stepping into his new role as Producing Director at Jaxx Theatricals.

Associate Producer
Karen Smith has worked in theatrical and film production conquering tasks including but not limited to dramaturgy, costuming, acting, and producing. She has no desire to direct. She is grateful for the chance to support and encourage artists like Lisa who share her commitment to enabling communication and enhancing connection.


Nathanael O’Neal

Stage Manager
Nathanael O’Neal (Stage Manager) is a recent LA transplant, having moved from the Lone Star state. Some of his favorite roles include Shrek (Shrek: the Musical) The Baker (Into the Woods), Cowardly Lion (Wizard of Oz), and Anatoly Sergievsky (Chess: The Musical). Gene Michael Barrera (Graphic Designer) has designed everything from a 4-part harmony barbershop quartet piece (yes, music) for Barbershop Quartet Day (April 11) to personal giftwrap, to many theatre posters and postcards. Design is everywhere, and Mr. Barrera finds it fun to swim through it all.
