GHOSTING at Sawyer's Playhouse

Force of Nature continues its 11th Season with the West Coast premiere of GHOSTING, A Romantic Comedy in the Shadow of Tragedy, by Thomas J. Misuraca and directed by Jahel Corban Caldera.

Burbank, CA – Widower, Jeffrey, hires aspiring TV writer, Brandon, to complete his deceased husband’s unfinished plays. The husband, Todd, “haunts” the apartment through memories and unseen interactions with Jeffrey and Brandon. Todd, along with their friend Carol and Brandon’s best friend Gavin, begins to suspect that a romance is blossoming between Jeffrey and Brandon. When sparks inevitably fly, Brandon discovers Todd’s hidden manuscript detailing his final days. This discovery threatens to bring a painful secret to light.

Like his ghostly character Todd, playwright Thomas J. Misuraca is a prolific writer with hundreds of short and full-length plays produced worldwide, frequently winning audience and judges’ favorite awards. Best known for his Off-Broadway hit “Geeks! The Musical!” (produced by Write Act Repertory), Misuraca is also the multi-genre author of short stories, screenplays, poems, and novels. GHOSTING marks Misuraca’s fifth major collaboration with Force of Nature Productions, following the successful runs of “Golden Age” in 2025, “Figment” in 2023, “Masters of the Dark Realm” in 2019, and “Demonic Housewives” in 2016.

Director Jahel Corban Caldera, who earlier this year earned acclaim for his masterful character development with his direction of “Peace Be With You”, returns to helm this tragic love story with his intimately stylized direction and story centric staging.

GHOSTING is a humorous and emotional exploration of grief, second chances, and the power of love and friendship.
