A story of fear, regret, repressed creativity… and murder.

Gather around Dee, a third year art history grad student, striking in her pale and almost supernatural visage, as she lectures about the unique and bizarre paintings displayed at Gallery Dark. Unique in their color (or sometimes lack thereof). Bizarre in that all feature blank spaces where the images of warped and disturbing creatures once resided.

She’ll relay the tale of Arthur Collins, a promising young painter turned attorney. As Arthur tries to leave his artistic inclinations behind, corpses are discovered with his DNA nearby, including places where Arthur has never been. As the body count rises, Arthur must come face to face with his past, and the regret and repressed creativity that may have given birth to something mysterious and terrible.

Since its debut in 2016, “Fallen Saints” has delighted and disturbed audiences with unflinching tales of the horrors that humanity inflicts upon itself. From Jack the Ripper prowling Whitechapel in search of his next kill to the hysteria of Salem’s witchcraft trials, “Fallen Saints” reflects the darkness deep inside our souls, both literally and figuratively.

Like our SCP-inspired “Arcanum” in 2023 and last year’s “Tales of Blaze City,” “The Art of Heartbreak" invites you to explore a wholly fictional yet dark and gritty world. But the emotions explored, from love and passion to envy, disgust, and murderous rage, are quite real, and quite deadly.

Fridays, September 18 & 25 and October 2 Saturdays, September 19 & 26 and October 3 8:00 & 9:30 PM
