Farther Along is an LGBTQ+ comedy proof-of-concept short film written by and starring Blair Peyton, screening as an Official Selection of Dances With Films LA. The 14-minute short follows Wesley, an uptight perfectionist grieving his mother's death, who reluctantly allows his small-town minister father Harvey to move in, exploring grief, identity, and family through a queer lens. The film stars Blair Peyton alongside Peter Friedman, Clara Wong, NaTonia Monét, and Mia Rose Kavensky, and is directed by MJ Bernier and Emily Draper. The screening takes place at 10:15 a.m. as part of Series Block 10, and serves as a proof of concept for a half-hour comedy series about the evolving relationship between a preacher father and his gay son.
