Experiencing the Dream MLK the Musical is a live audience recording of a 26-song score performed with 27 musicians, written by Kesha L. Ealy and co-written and composed by Marcus S. Mason. The musical tells the human side of the story of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and Coretta Scott King, beginning at their courtship and featuring figures such as Mahalia Jackson, Ralph Abernathy, John Lewis, Bayard Rustin, and J. Edgar Hoover. The cast includes Eric Dawkins as Martin Luther King Jr., Celeste Butler-Clayton as Coretta Scott King, Patricia Jackson as Rosa Parks, Pam Blackmon Kendle as Mahalia Jackson, and James Singleton as J. Edgar Hoover, among others. The orchestra is under the direction of Leon Lacy, with orchestrations by Fellipe Paccagnella, vocal arrangements by Tony Jones, and musical direction by William Taylor.
