Babette's Feast at Azusa Pacific University Theater Arts Dept

Azusa Pacific University’s Theater Arts Department continues  the 2025-26 season with an adaptation of the beloved film, Babette’s Feast.   

When Babette arrives in a tight-knit, austere village, her extravagant gift - a lavish, once-in-a-lifetime dinner- stuns the cautious community. As the table overflows with exquisite dishes and fine wine, the guests find themselves swept into a miraculous experience of radical grace, unexpected forgiveness, and deep human connection. Babette’s sumptuous feast becomes a masterpiece of generosity and courage, showing us that welcoming the stranger can heal old wounds and transform an entire community from the inside out.

The production is directed by Margaret Starbuck. Margaret is a  freelance theatre director, dramaturg and arts administrator, and is currently the Literary Manager at Boston Court in Pasadena. The Theater Arts Department at Azusa Pacific University is dedicated to producing exceptional theatrical experiences through rigorous training and innovative programming. The department is nationally recognized for its BFA in Acting for The Stage and Screen program.
