The longest continuously-running jazz festival in the world returns for its 69th year with 74 performances from iconic jazz masters and emerging artists across five stages. Highlights include Herbie Hancock and Ron Carter reuniting as a duo to celebrate the centennial of Miles Davis' birth, Meshell Ndegeocello premiering her MJF69 commission piece America 250, and the Monterey Surprise featuring Ambrose Akinmusire, Melissa Aldana, Cecile McLorin Salvant, Gerald Clayton, Larry Grenadier, and Brian Blade. Other performers include Wynton Marsalis and the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra, Christone Kingfish Ingram, Charles Lloyd, Ravi Coltrane, and Amy Tan with Joey Alexander. The festival takes place on the oak-studded grounds of the Monterey County Fair & Event Center with international cuisine and arts vendors.
