A ROLE PLAYING GAME Will Premiere At Hollywood Fringe Festival

Street Rat Media will make its Hollywood Fringe Festival debut with the world premiere of A Role Playing Game, a new one-hour drama written and directed by Trey Reinheimer. The production will be staged at the Hobgoblin Playhouse on Gardner.

The play centers on a group of friends who have just completed their long-running “Caverns and Creatures” campaign. A discussion about what happens next in their shared fantasy world evolves into a political debate that reopens old wounds and tests the limits of their friendships.

Elle Ven, played by Julie Amuedo, is a pragmatist seeking to reflect the real world within the game, while the Game Master, played by Bek Suoma, attempts to balance the competing perspectives at the table. The group also includes Francis Kemper as Sir Vice, a political idealist; Klenn Harrigan as Will Usion, a rationalist attempting to maintain peace; and Miles Bryant as Kyle, an unpredictable presence within the group dynamic.

The play examines the tensions within modern progressive identity, using each character to represent differing ideological viewpoints. Reinheimer has described the work as a reflection on civic responsibility, engagement, and the exhaustion of ongoing political discourse, framing the story as an exploration of interpersonal and ideological conflict.

CREATIVE TEAM

Reinheimer, a Los Angeles-based writer and creator, makes his directorial debut with the production. A graduate of Truman State University, he began developing the concept for A Role Playing Game after drawing inspiration from real-life conversations and his long-standing interest in tabletop role-playing games.

Nicole Ohara serves as producer. An actor, producer, and writer, Ohara has worked across stage and film, with credits including The Seagull at Odyssey Theatre and projects for Netflix and Hulu.

Street Rat Media, LLC is an independent production company focused on creating work that examines contemporary issues and expands opportunities for marginalized and International Artists working in the United States.
